Check this out! Cover reveal of my latest book from Orca Book Publishers! Not Just Dirt!: How Soil Supports Our Planet will be out and about in the world on September 16! I am so excited about this book – it was such a fun one to write! You can already preorder it from your favourite indie bookstores or from Amazon or Indigo.

And, yes, I’m writing new books right now! Janet and I are currently knee-deep in editing an as-yet-under-wraps book that will be published … let’s just say later … and we are also co-writing our fourteenth gardening/plant-themed book (again, I have to be vague with the topic right now) that will be published in 2026. On top of that, I’m working on my third book for Orca Book Publishers, another children’s nonfiction title in the Footprints series, but of course I can’t tell you what it is about just yet ….

Exciting AND nebulous! I promise, you’ll know more in a few months.

Still a couple of tickets left for my microgreens workshop on February 6! I’m donating the proceeds of the workshop to the Somerset Bridlewood Community Garden. The workshop will be held in south Calgary. For tickets, go here.

I’m delighted to be presenting at Diamond Valley Community Gardens’ first-ever Seedy Saturday event! Everyone is welcome.

I’m hosting a Seed Swap Pop-Up (try saying that three times quickly!) as part of my role as the Community Garden director for the Somerset Bridlewood Community Garden. If you’re in the area, pop by the pop-up to chat and exchange some seeds!

Road trip! Janet and I will be in Red Deer on February 20 to chat with the members of the Red Deer Garden Club.

Save the date!

Sexsmith Seedy Saturday – Sexsmith, Alberta – Saturday, March 1 (speaking, vendor)

DID YOU KNOW?

I do some content creation on the Facebook page for The Gardener for Canadian Climates magazine! I answer reader questions, wax poetic about botany and growing plants, and sprinkle in some garden event listings and even a few humorous gardening memes. Currently, I’m exploring a bunch of houseplant and garden pond topics, by request. Catch it @gardenermagazine.
