Apart from the staff bustling away at the tea house, the whole of the William Reader Rock Garden was mine one morning last week. It was utterly blissful. Especially when you contemplated scenes like this, which were pretty much everywhere. It’s a wonder I didn’t trip over my jaw and stumble on the rocks.
And this is the garden past its peak, sliding into autumn.
Looks great and mystery
It is a little mysterious…great way to describe it! 🙂
J > Oh I do love a garden to explore – especially one with mysterious paths, like in your photo! Unlike some of those who come to our garden, D and I are more than happy to ask permission or to pay. A wonderful garden may be a labour of love, but it’s labour all the same, and full-on. The labourer is worthy of his/her hire! I like the William Reader story – we all owe a lot to characters like him, in various fields of human endeavour.
I agree with you completely, on all points!
I love exploring gardens! This one looks wonderful!
It is an incredible space…every turn on the path yields something new and spectacular.
Geez, I live in Calgary and STILL haven’t been to this garden. I’m lookin’ bad on this one. 🙂
Definitely worth visiting – so much to see!
