The first prairie crocus (Pulsatilla nuttalliana) sighting of the year is something I look forward to each year. We found this small clump atop the windswept Cranston Ridge here in Calgary this afternoon. To me, these little fuzzy guys always herald the official arrival of spring, no matter how many weeks after the actual date of the vernal equinox they appear.
Thank you for sharing such beauty through your post today.
They are great
so pretty
Happy Spring!
Welcome, spring!
Is this the same as pasque flower?
You always search and find some interesting little sights, Sheryl! A nice sign of Spring, they are.
Beautiful!
Beautiful! I can’t wait to get out to some of my favourite spots and hunt for early flowers and mushrooms!
