Catkins ˈkat-kəns
Noun, plural. The fuzzy little huggable bits that emerge from the tips of branches of some tree species in very early spring. A sight for really sore eyes after twenty months of winter (I exaggerate, but only slightly). More snow is supposedly on its way tomorrow, but for now, we’ll go with this. *purrs contentedly*
Beautiful! And we snow today )

I grew up waiting for pussy willows as one sign of spring (forsythia was the other). Such great memories. I still can ‘feel’ how soft and silky they were.
Pussy willows are a spring plant we really miss in the South. Sometimes stores sell branches to force at home.
And so lovely against the blue sky. 🙂
I love the look and feel of pussywillows. A sure sign of Spring – bring it on!
