Something wondrous and strange is going on in my garden…
I know I shouldn’t get so excited…but it’s been awhile since I’ve seen anything that colour coming out of the ground. (It’s interesting that they already look a tad ragged – the fact that I neglected to fertilize them last fall and a good number of hungry cohabitating rabbits may be to blame).
Of course, tomorrow is the first day of spring and we’re expecting a major snowstorm. But just look at those bulbs go! 🙂
That’s a beautiful sight for sure. I’ve still got feet of snow on my beds so I’ll enjoy your progress. 🙂 Happy Spring.
Aw, it was short-lived excitement – we’re completely buried under the white stuff once again! Yay, spring! 🙂
How lovely, still waiting for something green to poke it’s little head up from our frozen earth,
Soon…soon (I sure hope so, anyway!). 🙂
Still waiting…sigh…
It feels like winter has been going on forever…we’ll all be so delighted and grateful when the warm weather finally arrives!
Wonderful. The first sign of the end of winter. My backyard usually is the first place to show new growth but the gates are frozen shut so I can’t even check if anything is up yet. Let’s hope it is a quick storm and the last one of the season.
I was surprised at the wind chill this morning, it really dipped down. 😦 I hope you’re right and this is the last of it. Have a wonderful weekend!
I guess they just couldn’t wait any longer, me either. I hope we don’t get creamed with this snow thing. Nicola Crosby (Global Edmonton Weather Goddess) warned us that it will be cold for 4 or 5 days, phooey. I like your new header photo too 😀
Thanks, Boomdee! Hope you’re not getting too much of the white stuff up there…we actually had some sunshine for about five minutes this afternoon, but the snow is coming down again this evening. Stay warm and have a great weekend!
I have a bit of green popping up to in the backyard. But the deer have already found it. They nipped off the tops of some tulips starting to grow.. We had a big dog till last June and had no issues with the deer. We had to put our dog down and now the deer are showing up. Very frustrating.
Oh, those pesky deer! It’s been a long winter for them, I guess they can’t help themselves – it’s just a shame they have to munch on your tulips.
I’m sure that does your heart and soul good Sheryl! I just hope that snowstorm doesn’t bring too much and it melts again really soon. HappySpring!
Thanks, Cathy! I honestly did a little happy dance when I saw them popping up out there. 😉 But now they’re thoroughly buried under the new snowfall and more is coming down. Oh well – that’s “springtime in the Rockies!”
Enjoy your weekend!
The first green is so very exciting, love your photos 🙂
Thanks so much! Cheers!
I can well understand your excitement at seeing some green. I will be so excited to see some here too and especially some colors. Enjoy the signs of spring and I hope they survive the snow. Hugs
Yes, some colourful blooming flowers would be amazing…soon, we hope! Have a lovely weekend!
wow! that’s amazing you’re ahead of Ontario! we still have lots of hard mounds of snow and just this week a little bit of lawn showing around the base of trees. soon though… we are all so anxious this year.
Doesn’t it feel like the longest winter ever? We’re now buried under all new snow!
Oh Happy Day!
So true! 🙂
Yay for color! Brings a smile to the face and lightness to the heart!
It does, indeed! Since I wrote this post, there’s been a huge amount of snowfall…maybe in another week, I’ll see green once again! 🙂 Have a wonderful week!
Hope these little ones have been tucked under a protective blanket of snow and we’ll see them again in a few weeks!
I was surprised at how much snow actually fell and I’m so happy for the warming trend to come!
Hope you’re doing well! Have a fantastic week!
