Bidens Campfire Fireburst

I’m a little gaga over the colour of this new Bidens I’m trialing for Proven Winners this year – this hot little number is Campfire ‘Fireburst’. ย A huge bonus is that it’s seriously drought tolerant – a good thing, because I can’t seem to keep up with the watering this summer…. ย ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the colour! It is fire. Drought tolerant is great this year. No one seems to have a lot of rain.

True – it seems so dry everywhere! I was out doing some weeding the other day and the soil actually sounded crispy when I dug into it. Not good.

Great color! And I love any flower that will grow in my garden.

Especially when you have a yard like mine with plenty of dry shade ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aren’t they fantastic? Definitely recommended. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love Bidens and that colour is wonderful! I do like orange in the garden but you have to be careful where you put it don’t you?

I agree, it can be a bit jarring if it’s not in the right spot.

I had never heard of bidens until this year and now I get to see one! They are quite lovely and yes, I’d have orange flowers. It seems the early flowers have cooler colors and then they heat up in summer. These are beautiful.

Yes, I think you’re right…and by July and August, it’s such a treat to see the brilliant colours!

Love orange in the garden! And anything that is drought tolerant.

Drought tolerance is becoming more and more important in my garden…I am really trying to watch with my plant selections as time goes on.

I’m all about orange! I have more orange than any other color–and I love this new plant you’re showing us!

Orange really makes an impact in the garden, doesn’t it? I’m really keen on this plant – I will definitely plant more of them next year!

This year I’ve planted the same one and it really glows !

      I agree – it is brilliantly eye-catching!

Lovely colour! Being drought tolerant is always a bonus, we’ve already had to change out some flowers after being gone a week during the heat…

This weather has been so hard on the plants, hasn’t it? It’s hard to keep up with the watering and especially difficult if you want to go somewhere for a few days….

I love orange and this one is a beauty.

I’m really impressed with it – not just the colour, but the fact that it is one of the few plants in my garden that seems to be holding up in the heat. Everything else is looking pretty poor right now!

I love these! I’ll look for them. I have orange zinnias and orange echinacea. I’m just happy to have flowers. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Sheryl @ Flowery Prose Avatar

Orange is such an amazing, cheerful colour, isn’t it? Makes a person smile just to look at them. Orange echinacea must be a delight – I’ve never seen it. Zinnias are perfect in every colour! ๐Ÿ™‚

We have lily in spring, marigold right now and for the first time – seed by itself – orange hawkweed, which is a neophyt in Europe (coming from North-America). I love the color of this hawkweed!

    1. Sheryl @ Flowery Prose Avatar

Orange hawkweed is a really attractive plant, isn’t it? Unfortunately, here in Alberta, it is a prohibited noxious weed so we must destroy it whenever we see it.

Those are like a Tequila Sunrise ๐Ÿ˜€ In the past, I didn’t enjoy orange in the garden. But this year my annual pots have a bright Coral and Fuschia mix. They are super bright and colourful and I’m enjoying them. I planted an orange and pinkish coleus in there too. I don’t know what happened at the garden store, it was like I was possessed, LOL.

    1. Sheryl @ Flowery Prose Avatar

      Ooooh, Tequila Sunrises…. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ha ha I think I’ve had that happen to me in the garden centre, too – but the results always seem to be favourable, don’t they? Love the sound of that coral/fuschia mix!

It’s really striking, that’s for sure!
