A walk on a very cool, foggy morning in lateย August brought me to the Margaret Brown Memorial Garden in the community of Varsity (Calgary).ย  Really happy I brought the camera along!ย ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Very very nice pictures. Flowers before the frost (and snow!).

I miss all that colour already!

The garden is really lovely, especially now that the plantings are maturing – with the fog, it was magical.

Lovely photos! Our rain has stopped, just about, so I want to try and get some bulbs planted this coming week. It looks like it should be warm and sunny, so keeping my fingers crossed!

Enjoy your week – I hope it is sunny and you are able to do the planting you want to! What types of bulbs are you planning to put in?

Mostly more of the same tulips, crocuses and daffodils I already have. And lots of Leucojum aestivum ‘Gravetye Giant’ as they look like giant snowdrops in late spring!

I love that last photo Sheryl, hopefully the tree damage caused by the storm still means you enjoy some spectacular Autumn colours, later in the year.

Thank you – I sure hope so. The forecast is for sun and warm temperatures for the next few days, which will be a relief. Have a wonderful week!

Beautiful. I have plans but I doubt there will be action. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sometimes it just works out that way, doesn’t it? Perhaps you’ll have a quiet, relaxing week without a whole lot of doing…and that sounds like a good plan to me!

Wow, what a beautiful place, I love the first photo!

It was so pretty with the fog – it made everything look like it was glistening.

Beautiful photographs! I would love to be able to get out into the garden for more than five minutes sometime this week!

I sure hope you have a chance! Enjoy the rest of your week!

What is the flower in the first photo? That’s so cool! It looks like a gorgeous spot to unwind.

They’re the fluffy seed heads of a clematis of some sort (I believe a Jackmanni, if I remember correctly). Aren’t they neat? It is a very lovely spot, and they have placed some benches there so you can just sit and contemplate.

A beautiful looking place, Sheryl! Aren’t Clematis seed heads stunning in their own right? Lovely with a touch of frost or dew!

To me, they are nearly as interesting as the flowers!

Beautiful garden. This time of year I’m looking and moving things trying to get the right balance. I do it every year and I’m guessing eventually I’ll get it right. ๐Ÿ™‚

The shuffling and adjusting is one of the fun parts of gardening – it’s such a great learning experience, as well. I moved a few plants this year, too, sure hope the weather didn’t hurt them too badly.

My favorites are the first and third image. So happy that you had your camera along with you to share these with us.

Thanks so much! It was such a treat to spend the morning out in that lovely spot, I should do it more often.

OH my what a beautiful garden!

It is small, but exceptional! I should post photos of it when it is at its peak, it’s so lovely. Have a wonderful remainder of your week! ๐Ÿ™‚
