Another look back at summer 2015…this beauty (like the Trollius I posted a photo of a couple of weeks ago) was found at the Silver Springs Botanical Garden here in Calgary. If you live in the area (or are heading this way as a tourist) and haven’t yet had the chance to check out this amazing space, make it a priority to visit during this growing season – what the volunteer gardeners have accomplished is incredible!

I love the little seed compartments in the poppies. When the flower is in bloom, they look like little hats.

I never thought about that before – I will have to look closer this year! 🙂

Oh, I love poppies and I can’t seem to get them to grow! This is lovely!

I must admit I’ve never tried growing poppies in my own garden – I love them so much and I’m not sure why I haven’t put any in. Maybe I ought to finally do so this year! 🙂

Well, be warned–everyone will tell you they grow like weeds but they sure haven’t for me!

Being able to see the flower with and without petals is really neat. So pretty

They have such an interesting structure…I was pleased to see them like this that morning.
