I told my husband this silver-plated pilea (P. cadierei) followed me home from the garden centre. He made a disgusted face and reminded me that it likely required a bit of my assistance. Can’t get anything past that guy; he’s a sharp one!

A note that may be of interest: the genus Pilea is quite large (estimated at 600 to 700 species) and you’re probably most familiar with P. peperomioides, commonly known as the Chinese money plant, with its distinctive coin-shaped green leaves.
