Well, we couldn’t be faulted for trying. We had the snowshoes with us yesterday, but the trails at West Bragg Creek are only just snow-covered and heavily compacted by foot and fat bike traffic. We had a lovely hike instead, despite the crazy high (but warm!) winds – in this shot, it looks pretty peaceful, actually. You don’t see the snow spiraling up off the ground or the ice crystals that blasted us (or the fact that I could barely stand upright enough to keep the horizon from wobbling in my viewfinder). Gotta love the weather in Alberta!
What a hike that was! It does look beautifully serene!
It is a wonderful place to visit – and we were fortunate that we had much of the trail to ourselves.
Fantastisch te mogen wandelen in dit witte landschap
I’m always so grateful to be able to spend time in the mountains! It makes me so happy.
Funny that the weather was so wild and it looks so calm! Winter has arrived in Alberta!
Yes, it sure has! Our weather can be crazy here….
I also love to see your breathtaking photos, especially of mountains and snow.
I am so pleased to hear that! I enjoy posting them…. 🙂
I love snowshoeing myself but never get to do it anymore! There are people using bikes with fat tires?
Things sure have changed!
Those bikes are amazing! They look like such great fun! I keep thinking I ought to try renting one and give it a try…I’m a bit worried about falling and breaking my ageing bones, however. 😉
You may not get to do any snowshoeing anymore but you are able to spend time at the ocean…that is something even more special!
true & technically speaking…….I could get a friend to drive me up into the mountains for some snowshoeing!
You got a really nice photo, though!
I’m so happy it was a warm day, at least! That wind would have been unbearable otherwise.
Sounds very invigorating! Lovely photo 🙂
Thank you! “Invigorating” is definitely the right way to describe it!
