A couple of snaps from a snowshoeing trek on a Chinook-cloudy, balmy day in West Bragg Creek two weeks ago. ย The Snowshoe Hare loop is about 5.5 kilometers long, quite hilly, and treed nearly the entire way. ย It’s not quite as scenic as the nearby Snowy Owl trail (which we snowshoed last year), but it’s a bit more of a workout. ย There wasn’t much snow out there at the time, and the trail was pretty compacted from the heat and the traffic. ย Wandering around out there that day, it rather felt like spring was near….

So glad there is still enough snow out there to enjoy – here in the city, there’s just a lot of grey ice.

Lovely winter scenes. Right now, we have mud.

Beautiful trails. Unfortunately not enough snow to enjoy snow shoeing in NB. One of the few praying for more snow!

Were you in the path of the big snowstorm over the past day or so? Hopefully you received enough snow to be good for the garden, but not so much that a massive digging out was required.

Love your snow…we have only had a couple of small flurries and a couple of frosty mornings….I may speak too soon. Sue

Sometimes February and March are seriously snowy months! Not sure what this year will bring, though…it seems to be very dry in many parts of the world.

The birches! Gorgeous! I can’t decide if I’m glad we have no snow or if I miss it . . .
