Did you know that my books Not Just Dirt!: How Soil Supports Our Planet and Save Our Seeds: Protecting Plants for the Future (both from Orca Book Publishers) are available not only as print editions but as accessible e-books? This means the e-book versions have features such as screen reader and text-to-speech (TTS) capabilities, as well as customization of text and layout, including colour and font size. I’ve also written alt-text (in addition to the captions) for all of the photographs in the book. All of these features go a long way to assist readers who are blind or have low vision or colour blindness, or those who have trouble holding a book or turning pages. Neurodivergent readers or those with dyslexia may also benefit from accessible e-books. I’m so happy that my publisher is able to provide these features to everyone!
