September 1 – Spent yesterday with dear friends in Bruderheim, watching Model Ts racing on a dirt track. It was an absolute blast! The company was delightful as always, the Fifties throwback band was stellar, and the weather was perfect! Coming back from the restaurant after the races, we spotted this lovely pizza garden planter, containing basil, oregano, nasturtiums, and – of course – tomatoes. This is a town that obviously doesn’t have deer that roam the streets and was hailstorm-free all summer. So wonderful!
September 1 – Someone thinks that if his back is turned to me, he somehow blends into the scenery. I love rabbits so even if they’re in the community garden, they’re safe with me. He knows it, too. 🐇
September 16 – Mobile went to the Great Cellular Tower in the Sky yesterday so it may take me even longer to reply to texts than usual. If you know me and my texting habits (non-habits?), you’ll be snickering right about now.

September 17 – Popped in for an hour to the Calgary Cat Festival on the weekend to visit all the insanely adorable kittens and cats up for adoption, and to check out the vendor tables. Smudge made out like a bandit; we supported a few of our favourite cat rescues and came home with a big bag filled with treats and toys for her.
Oh, the carpet, you say? All those cute cats and I couldn’t stop staring at this riveting pattern in the conference room. It’s…incredible.
September 18 – Someone planted her butt in the watercolour paints during our Paint Night In virtual class with local artist Rozzie Lee @calgarychalkartist (hosted by @calgarylibrary). These are the things that NEVER happen during in-person programming. 🤣🐈
September 22 – So many luscious apples at the Southwood Fall Fruit Harvest Share and Tasting today! Janet and I had so much fun chatting with everyone in attendance. The kids who popped by had a blast trying to squish out all that fresh, dark apple juice from the press! A huge thank you to Teresa for inviting us!
(September 28) – My colleague L. and I took the library bikes out for a spin…the weather and the views were spectacular! We had so much fun chatting with everyone out enjoying the 🌞.
(September 28) – Had a blast at the Third Avenue After Dark market in Strathmore! Met so many lovely people and had a wonderful surprise when my aunt and cousin traveled from out of town to visit!
The frustration with apple tasting is that I would want to grow another or more cultivars that I lack. There are already too many here. Citrus tasting was good for business when I grew citrus trees.
Sounds like you had an enjoyable visit with some other friends up in our area. It’s too bad you didn’t come around our way for a short visit that early September weekend you were at Bruderheim. I know you had your anniversary and all. I could use your friend hugs in person, anytime. 🥹
