NO, THANK YOU:
Word count over the limit.
Poetry, non-fiction, essays, children’s stories, anything other than flash fiction.
Erotica, excessive gore, abuse, or ‘isms such as racism, sexism, etc..
Overly saucy language. I don’t mind swear words, I just would prefer to keep the content on the site…

Sounds really fun! If I weren’t up to my ears with work on Book 3 and my podcast, I would join the fun. Unfortunately…
Maybe next year, Laurie! I run a call for submissions every year, usually in October! I would love to see a story from you!
Yes, maybe next year!
Fijn dat jemensen kansen geeft.
What an interesting concept, Sheryl. Is it called flash fiction because you write it quickly or because its short or both?
Thanks! It’s called flash fiction due to the length – they are generally stories of 1, 500 words or less (I settled on the cap of 1,000). This is the fifth year I’ve been publishing these little tales, and I once had a submission – which I ended up publishing – that was just over 300 words. (Just for fun, there is a type of story called a drabble. They have a word count of 100 words or less. They are a challenge to write!)
